During my Fall 2013 Semester at Capital University, my advanced recording class was privileged with the task of recording the Capital University Symphonic Winds Orchestra in Mees Auditorium. This was a lot of fun and during this project I learned the advantages of using the Decca Tree stereo mic technique and got some one on one time with the AT-4050 Microphone. The class was broken up into two teams one for the two track, which used a separate ProTools rig to record the audio out of the AT-4050, and a larger team of recording engineers who monitored the Decca Tree and Spot Mic's. After the grueling 8-hour session, we were then charged with the task of mixing our choice of any of the compositions recorded. The two files below, The Magicians Secret and National Emblem, are from that very session and were mixed in ProTools. I also have some great pictures from that session for you to view, I hope you enjoy the music and pics! More fun stuff like this one the way. Enjoy!
